Things I’ve Learned in My 20s (So Far) 🌷💫
By Nayli
Turning 20 felt like stepping into a new world. A little scary, a little exciting, but full of possibilities. And now, as I journey through my early 20s, I’ve come to realise that this phase of life is not just about growing older, but growing into yourself. It’s the age where we’re figuring things out, making mistakes, and slowly learning what truly matters. So here are a few gentle lessons I’ve picked up along the way:
1. It’s okay to outgrow people, places, and even parts of yourself
Letting go doesn’t mean you’re heartless. It means you’re making space for growth, peace, and people who are meant to stay.
2. Being alone doesn’t mean you’re lonely
Some of the most powerful moments come when you’re alone with your thoughts, discovering who you are without noise or distraction.
3. Don’t compare your journey
Everyone blooms at their own pace. Just because someone else is ahead doesn’t mean you’re behind. Your time will come and it’ll be beautiful.
4. Not everything will go as planned and that’s okay
Life will throw curveballs and sometimes the best blessings are the ones you didn’t expect.
5. Be proud of your small wins
Waking up early, taking care of your skin, saving RM10, saying no when you need to. These little things matter and deserve to be celebrated.
6. Your feelings are valid even if others don’t understand them
You don’t have to explain your heart to everyone. What you feel is real and it matters.
7. Being kind will never go out of style
Even when it’s not returned, choose kindness. It speaks more about you than anyone else.
Your 20s don’t come with a manual. They come with lessons, detours, laughter, breakdowns, healing, and growth. I’m still learning, still unlearning, still figuring things out. But one thing I know for sure. This journey is shaping me into the woman I’m meant to be.
