🦔 Take a Chance, or You’ll Always Wonder

by natadecoco

People often say that as women, we don’t chase, we wait. We wait for the right person to come, we believe that if he truly wanted us, he would make the first move. I’ve heard this countless times, and honestly, it sounds safe and romantic. But from my own experience, after carrying a crush since high school, I’ve learned that sometimes holding back leaves you with something heavier than rejection: regret. It’s better to let those feelings out than to keep asking yourself “what if?” for years with no answer in return.

As a woman stepping into my twenties, I feel we should never let society’s expectations decide how we express our hearts. Life is too short to be lived quietly in fear. Of course, I’m not saying to rush or force anything, but if someone truly matters to you, telling them, even in a simple way can free you from the weight of wondering. Rejection might sting for a moment, but regret stays much longer. In this age of independence and self‑expression, we should allow ourselves the courage to act on our feelings, because our twenties are not just about careers and responsibilities; they’re also about experiences, risks, and stories we’ll carry forever. So if you’re reading this and thinking of someone right now, maybe this is your sign, take the chance, because your heart deserves clarity more than endless questions.
