Life Lessons I Learned from K-Dramas
1. Our Written Seoul
This drama taught me the magic of taking a break and revisiting your roots. Sometimes, in the rush of trying to “make it,” we forget who we used to be. The characters reminded me that it’s okay to pause, breathe, and go back to where it all started and not to stay there, but to remember why we started in the first place.
This one hits soft and deep. It showed me how love isn’t always about big gestures but sometimes it’s just staying. Even when people grow apart, even when they fight, true love gently finds its way back. It also reminded me that it’s okay to grow at your own pace, and healing takes time.
3. Queen of Tears
This drama honestly had me crying and reflecting hard. It taught me that love in marriage isn’t just romance but it’s also sacrifice, forgiveness, and choosing each other even when life gets really messy. Behind every perfect couple photo, there are battles we don’t see. But what matters is the effort to fight together, not against each other.
I love how this one subtly teaches us about unexpected changes. Just like tangerines that look sour but end up sweet, life can surprise us in the best ways. Even when things don’t go as planned, sometimes it’s life pushing us toward something better. We just have to be brave enough to taste the “tangerines.”
5. Welcome to Samdal-ri
This drama felt like a hug. It reminded me of the warmth of hometowns, childhood friends, and the comfort of being known. Sometimes, the dreams we chase in big cities aren’t as fulfilling as the peace we find in the places we once left behind. There’s strength in coming home — to people, to places, and to ourselves.
