Is Matcha Healing… or Is It Just Pretty? 🍵✨

Lately, I’ve been asking myself this question, do I really love matcha? Or am I just in love with the way it looks in pastel tumblers, the soft green swirl on top of iced milk, or the way it matches my calm girl aesthetic?
The truth is… maybe a bit of both. BUT I'M NOT THE FOMO ONE.
I still remember the first time I ordered matcha at a cafe, I didn’t even know what to expect. It was bitter, earthy, and honestly… I wasn’t sure I liked it. But I wanted to like it. Sebab orang kata matcha ni calming, penuh dengan antioxidants, and healthier than coffee. So I gave it another shot. And another. And now? I can’t go a week without it.
I love how matcha makes me feel soft. It’s not just a ddrink but it’s a moment. A pause. A habit that grounds me in the middle of chaotic days.
Tapi at the same time, I’m not gonna lie, the aesthetic plays a part too. The pastel tumblers, the minimal green tones, the “that girl” vibe on TikTok and it adds to the experience. Kadang-kadang, I wonder kalau matcha tak viral, would I still love it as much?
Maybe I would. Maybe I wouldn’t. But that’s okay.
Sometimes, we romanticize things because they give us peace. And if matcha, whether it’s because of its benefits or its beauty and makes me feel better, calmer, softer, then maybe it is healing. At least, for me.
