How I Ended Up Running On Tuesday Nights
By 1ovingqys
I never thought I’d be the kind of person to join a running club. Let’s be real, I was always more of a “watch people exercise on TikTok” type of girl than an actual runner. But sometimes, all it takes is a little nudge… or in my case, a sweet push from Aleeya. 💬💗
It all started when she mentioned the Unisel Run Club (URC) to me. How they meet up every Tuesday night for a community run. At first, I hesitated. I mean, running in public? With strangers?? Sounds like a nightmare. But deep down, I knew I needed something new in my routine. Something healthy. Something that wasn’t just scrolling at 3AM.
So I gave it a shot.
And surprisingly… I didn’t hate it.
The vibe was actually really welcoming. No pressure, no competition because it's just people from all walks of life coming together for the same reason.
Of course, I still struggle to keep up (my stamina is laughing at me), but I’m proud of myself. For showing up. For trying. For taking that first step — literally and emotionally.
Joining URC every week is slowly becoming something I look forward to. Not just because it’s a new hobby, but because it reminds me that growth doesn’t always have to be big or loud. Sometimes, it’s as simple as tying your shoes and choosing to show up on a random Tuesday night.
